Overview

GDP Labs, a leading tech company in Indonesia specializing in AI, Blockchain, Cloud, Data, Web, and Mobile solutions had absence of their official site in 10 years. Relying solely on LinkedIn for company information, stakeholders were concerned about the company's ability to attract potential clients and recruit new talent, particularly in competitive markets like Indonesia and the U.S.

In response, the company initiated a company profile project, assigning my colleague as the designer. Despite developing several concepts and designs, the initial efforts did not fully meet the stakeholders' expectations.

Challenges

Designed a platform that is scalable, error-free, and maintains the warmth of traditional greetings while leveraging digital capabilities.

Solutions
  • Developed company’s website based on GDP Labs' core ethos.

  • Implemented a tech-savvy design incorporating brand colors and dynamic tech elements.

  • Planned for scalable content strategy with easy-to-manage dynamic items.

Collaborative Design Process

I joined her during her journey, participating in several meetings to ensure I understood the current challenges she faced. We reviewed the existing concepts, analyzed feedback, and conducted an intensive exploration of GDP Labs' core ethos. We also listed potential content for future iterations. With clear, ambitious goals set, the design process commenced.

The objectives were to:

Embody GDP Labs' technological prowess in a modern, user-friendly website.

Attract new talent and clients by showcasing a compelling online presence.

Address the issue of limited content and lack of dedicated website management personnel.

I curated design samples and developed high-fidelity prototypes to align with our goals and the content we had previously listed. Key search terms included: technology, dark mode, light mode, consulting, company profile, website, landing page, and professional.

As mentioned before, my colleague had already created some initial designs. We analyzed these designs and made improvements, particularly enhancing the color scheme. We introduced a sleek dark mode featuring the brand’s blue and enhanced the visuals with accents of vibrant yellow to orange. This visually appealing combination stood out and improved user engagement. Through several iterations, we brought the design closer to achieving a balance between technical sophistication and user accessibility, ensuring the website remained intuitive yet innovative.

To infuse the site with the essence of GDP Labs, I incorporated design elements reflective of the company’s focus on 'ABCD-X Technology First.' Dynamic tech ornaments and interactive content were used to engage users from their first interaction with the site. This inspire by iteration that done by my collage

Technical Strategy and Implementation

Starting last year, we began utilizing Webflow to reduce the need for engineers and enable designers to handle more of the development work. Given that this project was a simple website without the need for backend services, Webflow was an ideal choice, allowing us to reduce time-consuming tasks.

Unexpectedly, using Webflow also brought additional benefits. Managing dynamic items, such as blogs, became much easier for individuals without technical backgrounds. This streamlined the content management process and made the website more maintainable.

Impact and Reflection

The launch of the GDP Labs website marked a significant milestone. The feedback from stakeholders and users was overwhelmingly positive, praising the site’s professional appearance and seamless navigation. More importantly, the new website enhanced GDP Labs' visibility, attracting potential clients and aiding in the recruitment of top-tier talent, with an average of 3,000 visits per month.

Post-launch, the project served as a reminder of the power of effective collaboration and innovative problem-solving. Through the dedication of my team and continuous idea exchange, we navigated resource constraints and design challenges, ultimately achieving a successful outcome that highlighted the intersection of creativity, determination, and expertise.
